Prereading:

From this article, I believe we will learn about the Maine Lobster Festival. We will learn the right and wrong ways to cook a Lobster and what this annual festival has to offer. I think the audience is anyone who is interested in attending the festival or anyone who enjoys a good seafood cookout. From the pictures, I can tell that it is a big event held every year and is kid friendly.
Outline of the article:
The first paragraph of the article basically talks about the 2003 Main Lobster Festival. It gave a lot of facts about who attended, what there was to offer, and where the town is located. This festival was promoted through a CNN article which greatly influenced numerous amounts of the attendees. The next few paragraphs describe the parts of the lobster and the history of the animal. It explains the lobster’s lifestyle, how they live in the ocean and what they eat. It then goes on to talk about the richness of the meat found inside the animal and why it is so popular in a state like Maine. The article then goes on how to properly prepare and cook this meat and why the details are so precise. The article then touches on animal abuse, since they spend so long talking about how important it is to cook the Lobster while they are still alive. The author explains the science behind cooking the Lobster while it is alive and how you get the most nutrients and flavors out of doing it this way.
